The Position:

Our client is a well-respected multinational trading house with global offices. They are seeking well rounded and seasoned ferrous scrap metal and pig iron trader with a background in physical and futures trading to join their team. This role will be to specifically build a ferrous scrap metal business unit and manage all sales and operations with direct p&l accountability. This role will be very hands-on with expectations to deliver an end-to-end procurement and sales strategy for the company. The opening would be ideal for someone with a background working the metallurgical industries particularly pig iron and ferrous scrap and has held the position of head trader of a global book.

Requirements:

• At least 15+ years of experience in pig iron, ferrous scrap or steel complex products
• Professional qualifications holding a degree or other relevant experience
• Proven ability to build physical trading businesses and scale up globally
• Has managed teams and scaled in size across different locations and geographical regions
• Consistent track record and positive P&L contribution
• Successful in managing and leading teams across different geographies
• Experience with conducting business development trips in Europe, MENA, ASEAN and China, proficiency in language capability in this region would be beneficial
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management skills and strong leadership qualities
